As the story goes I, Richard Karl Mann was born and adopted by Murray Marcus Mann and Vera Sylvia Epstein-Mann on my birthday at Temple Hospital, Los Angeles CA. I was given the card placed in my bassinet, by Murray and Vera in my teens. It read Temple Hospital, Baby Boy Ruben. So I am assuming that my birth mothers maiden name was Ruben, as I was told she was unmarried at the time of my birth. I believe that her backround/religion may have been Jewish, based on her last name and my adopted family's family tree. Both sides Jewish. I personally went thru all family paperwork/documents after their passing and Found NO RECORD OF MY ADOPTION. My adopted mothers(Vera) brother Monroe Epstein MD was an Anesthesiologist and I remember or was told that he may have assisted in my adoption in some way...Is it possible that my adoption was done in some fashion that avoided what was the adoption protocol at the time ?? Could I be an under the table adoption ?? My parents were always open to me about my adoption, from as young as I could understand...And offered to provide any additional information as I wished. I never asked, not once, because they were my ever loving parents.
