Country music superstar is Faith Hill is best known for her hit songs, leading roles in films and her highly publisized marriage with fellow country singer, TIm McGraw. But in addition to all of her successes, Hill is also a proud adoptee.

The star was adopted domestically at just a few days old by Ted and Edna Perry of Star, Mississippi. It is reported the couple wanted a daughter after having two biological sons.

During a Good Housekeeping interview, Hill said despite her great family life, deep down she always had a desire to find her birth parents.

"I was adopted into this incredible home, a loving, positive environment, yet I had this yearning, this kind of darkness that was also inside me," Hill said during the interview.

Hill eventually tracked down her birth mother and met some of her other natural relatives as well, she said she was shocked at how much she resembled her biological family. And despite the darkness Hill once felt, she said the reunion did not cause her any anger about the adoption.

"I have a lot of respect for my birth mother and no feelings of anger or any of that," Hill said. "I know she must have had a lot of love for me to want to give me what she felt was a better chance."

Hill maintained a relationship with her natural mother for 15 years before she passed away in her sleep in 2007.

Hill and McGraw are now parents to three biological daughters.
