The birth mother was not in close contact with the family, so our information is sketchy. We know that it was Kathleen's intention to keep Rachiel, but she was not emotionally equipped to do so. Further conversations with family seem to indicate that Rachiel went into foster care between 6 and 12 months of birth. After that, we do not know.
