Additional Info
All Other Information: *Northaven* I recieved my non Id information from Hillside (the agency that took over Northaven): typed as it is written: My birth mother was the second of four children born to her parents. My maternal grandfather was 6'6'tall, 220 lbs~ 11th grade education and was a construction worker living in the South. Maternal grandmother was 43 5'6' tall, 200 lbs. Half Cherokee Indian and half African American.~ she had hayfever- She also had 11th grad education **and was employed as a Factory Worker. Maternal grandparents divorced when my Birth-mother was 3or4~ Maternal grandmother was re-married and was employed in a canning factory. Birth-mother had 2 sisters and 1 brother eldest sister was 22 years old 5'7' 160lbs, She was married and had 3 children, and lived in the south. The only brother was 21 years old 5'8' tall and 185 lbs. He was married, had an 11th grade education and was employed as a factory worker. The youngest sister, age 14, died in ?-?-1964 (I am not sure if this is a typo from Hillside or Northaven because the dates seem to be off if my birth mother was the second of four children) I think it may be ?-?-1974 year of her death), from a head injury, after having suffered from blood on the brain for six months. Caseworker had notes about her being nice and calm etc. My birth mother had no prenatal care at all and said her own mother didn't know she was pregnant until she began labor. Birth-mother deliberately blocked any realization from her conscious mind during 9 months. She wore glasses she enjoyed drawing and was quite talented in art, she liked to do caricatures, designs and use water colors. She played guitar and enjoyed reading immensely and liked pool and baseball. She was a loner. Birth-father as reported by birth mother was healthy ..He had a high school education and was employed at a factory, but was one of the workers who had been laid off. **He was an excellent baseball player and **played on the factory team.** He was quite mechanical and liked to take cars apart. He was good at pool and enjoyed music birth mother described him as being 'very mixed up happy-go-lucky, but angered easily and was constantly in need of being the center of attention. Their relationship was a very minimal one. birth mother claimed that he verbally forced her into sexual relations, that she never wanted this because of feelings for him. Paternal grandfather was 50 6'1'tall, 190 lbs. ****He was self employed owning his own business, selling pipe lines. Your paternal grandmother was 49 5'6' tall 195 lbs. ****and was a factory worker at the same factory from which my birth-father was laid off from.** Birth-father had 2 brothers. The elder sibling was 24 years old, 6'tall and very thin. He had a high school education plus some years of college, and was employed as a physical education teacher in the south. The youngest brother was 20 years old 6'tall, 150 he had a high school education, was married but seperated and was **a factory worker. On 11-6-1974 exactly-2 days after my birth the caseworker visited my birth mother at hospital. Caseworker wrote that my birth mother had given some signs of indecision, a lot of tears when she had seen the baby, and some hesitation in signing the release forms. The nurse had been supportive as she seemed 'to be unable to really decide what she wanted to do One min she would show some feelings for the baby and the next she would change her mind.' She was almost non-verbal at that day in the hospital. However, the caseworker wrote, 'her affect showed through in her emotions and in her eyes and indicated to me that she was going through a struggle about this baby' Maternal grandmother was also present in room with her and was vehement and very verbal about her dislike for the father of the child and her definite request was that my birth-mother place this baby for adoption. She stated that the father of the child was a big mouth and a very bad person and he was not welcome in her home. However she also said that if your birth mother wanted to marry him for the baby's sake that was her decision, but your birth mother stated this wasn't what she wanted. Your maternal grandmother sad that the whole family was planning to move south at the end of November, and stay with their other daughter until they could find their own place. She said ****they had lived here for eleven years and were tired of the climate and wanted to go south....**** Your birth-mother had a finace'e who was willing to marry her even now after the baby was born and she was wondering how he would be able to accept this child ' Your birth-mother just nodded her head at everything! her mother said. However, when I (caseworker) verbalized the maternal feeling, the agony of decision. The worry as to what would happen to this child, your birth mother seemed to be in agreement with what I (caseworker) was saying.' On 11-20-1974 you birth-mother came in to complete the paperwork, and sign the surrender papers. She stated that her family was planning to leave for the south that weekend. She was very poised and in perfect control of herself and the situation. She stated that she was going through some tearful moments at home, but found that getting home had helped her a great deal. She talked with her mother and with her finace'e about this and was in agreement wtih everyones feelnigs about the babys future. In describing your birth mothers relationship with your birth father, she stated she had as much hatred for him as her own mother did. He apparently was a very charming, persuasive man, and was the kind of person who got what he wanted. She dated him a coupld of times and he was very persuasive regarding the sexual relationship. She admitted she really didnt want one, but he talked her into it, both with charm and also with a slight bit of threat. From that time on, she really wanted nothing further to do with him and when she discoverd her pregnancy, had nothing but ill feelings towards him. On the whole, she cuold really talk about her need to deny the pregnacy until it was tll late her feelings of anger, her feelings of abandonemnt and yeat a realization that she was responsible too for this pregnance.****On Nov 6th, you wereplace in the foster care home of Barbra and Gordon Pike and remained ther until you were brought home by your adoptive parents on 12-16-1974.**** And that is the infomration that I got today The Release of Non Identifying Information Regarding Birth Parents Form says mother 18 father 23 and they both worked in a factory. 11-21-2008 I contacted foster family Barbar and Gordon Pike, they seem very sweet. I Thanked them for taking care of me, and I asked if they knew anything about me to help me out with my search. I explained that my son has cancer and that I have 5 other children and his cancer is hereditary and no one on his fathers sides history has anything like it~ They stated they have no additional infomration their records are gone.
