Additional Info
I was born at the Plummer Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on July 27th, 1971. I'm not sure what time of day.. it doesn't give me that information in the documents I received from the Ontario government. The name I was given at the time of my birth was Lisa Marie D; however, my adoptive parents named me Susan. The document stated that my birth mother resided at 152 Letcher Street in the west end of Sault Ste. Marie at the time I was born. This is the address she gave to the adoption agency/CAS at the time. I was born to Elizabeth Ann Datson, and my biological father is James Doyal. There wasn't a lot known about his extended family/parents/or siblings. The document also stated that my father was separated from his wife at the time. So, I had always wondered if maybe they decided to reunite as a couple, and my mother's reason for putting me up for adoption. I don't want to speculate; however, I am curious to find out the answers to questions such as this. If someone would be willing or is capable of providing answers to such questions, I would appreciate it very much. I just want to know who I am. I never really fit in with either side of my adoptive mother or father's side of their family. I always felt like the black sheep and didn't belong. They never did anything intentionally to make me feel that way.. it's just the way it was, and that's how I personally felt whenever we'd attend family functions such as weddings, family reunions, or out at our shared family camp during the summers. I felt like I was out at some other family's camp, not my own. According to the documents I received, I have 2 older siblings to the same mother. It doesn't say whether my older siblings are male or female or both. I'm wondering if they were also put up for adoption by our mother, which could be quite possible, and I would love to find them. For the person(s) reading this; if you believe I may be your daughter, sister or a relative (cousin/auntie),.. I am not upset or hold resentment of any kind toward either of my parents. I just want to know who they are, and who my siblings are. I grew up as an only child. No brothers or sisters, and would love the opportunity to meet mine, and possibly be a part of each other's lives, if they would like that as well. It would be completely up to them as individuals. If this would be something that either one would not be comfortable with, I wouldn't pursue it any further, with no hard feelings. I also want to make clear that I am not looking for financial support from either of my parents or siblings or anything of that sort. I'm 52-yrs old, and have provided for myself for a long time now, so money doesn't make a difference to me. Since I was an only child, I buried both my parents with no emotional support from a brother or sister, and some people take this kind of support for granted. It was extremely difficult enduring the grief of this alone. Something I wouldn't wish on anyone. So, to anyone thinking of adopting a child.. my advice would be to adopt not just one, but at least 2 children. I am not in contact with either side of my mother or father's extended family anymore.. aunts, uncles, cousins. I was never very close with either; with the exception of 2 cousins who are brothers on my mother's side. Our 2 families would vacation together on occasion and spend the summers out at our family camp, which i no longer go to since my mother's passing in 2010. I immediately felt uncomfortable being there as soon as my mother wasn't there anymore. On my father's side, most lived over in England, or somewhere else in Canada, so I never got to know really any of them. Now, it's just me and my little dog, who I love to pieces. I have him as a service dog b/c he's my emotional support. He's a great companion and I'm grateful he's mine. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him in my life.
