Additional Info
My BM, self-reported, Margaret Ann Mendez, may have attended Savanna HS in Anaheim in 1964. I have the document with her signature signing over my medical rights to my adoptive parents. At the time of my birth, I was born in the parking lot at the hospital in Buena Park (which is no longer there) and my BM did not have the resources to keep me. She was a student in a beauty school. My DNA test indicated I have 15.4 Native American DNA however, it was barely mentioned in my non-ID info from State of CA, so I don't know what tribe. BM indicated she finished the 12th grade. and was Catholic with 6 brothers and 3 sisters. BM was not married to my BF and in the non-ID report, it was indicated that she did not give any details about her relationship with my BF and, further, that he was overseas in the military at the time of the adoption. It was also indicated that her doctor helped her plan for my adoptive placement. The info she reported on non-ID report about BF is that he was German, Irish, Dutch and from Kansas. He completed high school and one year of college. BF went into the Army. It was noted that he had 2 brothers and 1 sister. My husband is active-duty USMC (28+ years now) and we are stationed in Miami area. Today I called State of CA to get forms to petition to have my birth records unsealed. I will have to file those forms here in FL and then send to CA Supreme Court. Wish me luck! Thank you for reading my story!
