Hello,

I was born in CA and adopted to NY. I was born on 12/15/1966 at 11 AM at the Northridge hospital on Roscoe Blvd in CA. I have been able to discover my birth cert listed on Ancestry and found that there were 2 identical certs - one with the name Alisa B Wood and another with the name Alisa B Allen. I ordered the certs and they are def me because they came with my adopted info on it. CA and NY are sealed states and I would love to know how to unseal my info inexpensively. I have two poss last names because from what I was not only told by my adoptive parents but was confirmed by the discovery of the birth certs was I was the product of an affair. Back in 1966 there was no DNA nor paternity tests. My bio mom's name is Jeannie Wood (maiden name Lusembrink) and her husband was Robert Wood. I have hit a wall with my search. I know they are still alive but I am unable to get their addresses.

I have found additional information. My birth mother's name is Jeannie Lusembrink Wood and she was married in California in 1961 to a Michael E. Wood. I have been able to confirm that the original information my adoptive parents told me makes sense and is probably true. I have confirmed that I have 2 birth certificates associated to me (I requested both and both were delivered with my adoptive info on them) Alisa Beth Wood and Alisa Beth Allen. I am not able to get a copy of my original pre-adoption certificate because California is a state that seals adoption records and you have to get them unsealed through the courts and I cannot afford an attorney to do this for me and don't know how to do it myself.

New developments since original posting: As of 2015 I have located and obtained the 4 birth certificates that are associated to me. The first and middle names and cert numbers are identical - Alisa Beth (cert is at home and I'm not there right now) the four last names attributed to me are Lusembrink, Woods, Allen and Klein (adopted last name). I have reason to believe that my biological/birth family is located in Los Angeles county, CA. I am not able to locate their address(es) nor am I able to figure out how to find out any information on potential siblings. I believe that my biological mother and father(s) are still living. I am having problems identifying my potential fathers (I'm the product of an affair back in 1966). I would love any further assistance with continuing my research.
