My 75 year old neighbor, Valerie Dee Covell, asked me to help her search for her son. She has thought of him often throughout the years, especially on his birthday. She was a nursing student in 1959 and gave her son the name Douglas Mark Covell (she thinks her last name was on the birth certificate, but there is a small chance it could have been the father's last name, Learn). She remembers standing in a courtroom handing her son to his adoptive parents in Miami, Florida a few days after she gave birth to him. Any information we can find about her son would be much appreciated. She knows the process can take years, but she doesn't have any information about him, including what his adoptive name is. She hopes that he is healthy, and happy. Valerie is living in Southern California and is an active volunteer at the local library and NICU, where she holds babies every Sunday afternoon.
