Theresa & John were dating when she was in HS in Brooklyn, NY. I believe she graduated in 1948. I don't think her mother would allow her to tell Dawid's father (his information may not be on a birth record). She had to stop seeing him. She then dated Anthony 'Tony' Columbia (born 2/1/34). He remembered my mother wanting to get married but, he wanted to go to college, which he did. The Columbia & Pechinsky families were very close & spent summers together at Mtn. Lake, in Gloversville, NY. Theresa got tired of waiting for Tony & married Sgt. Joseph Bekanich, on 4 Oct. 1952, in Brooklyn, NY (her mother-in-law's name was Julia Spencer). The marriage lasted about a year. She is pictured with Dawid in the mid-50's at Mountain Lake and the Columbia family lived there in Fulton, NY. In 1955 Theresa married my father in Palm Beach County, Florida, (19 Jan 1956). It is possible that a closed adoption could have occurred there as late as 1956-57. She used to mention visiting Lake Worth, FL .Dawid was at my christening in May of 1958 (in Brooklyn, NY). Later that year he was at St. Luke's Episcopal Church & School in San Antonio, TX. I have several pictures of my half-brother from a little boy to a teenager the last taken in May 1965 (in NY or NJ) at an equestrian event.
