We believe the mother's name may have been Dorothy Mae Shepard, but that is uncertain. We are not sure of the spelling. We have a baby picture that states November 14, 3 months. We assume the girl was born in Aug/Sept 14, 1944 or 1945. This may not be correct. The father was an Italian POW/ISU during WWII at Camp Haan in Riverside, CA. He was repatriated in Oct 1945 to Sicily. He lost contact with the mother by 1946. The embassy told him she had died or moved away. His son, in Milan, Italy, is looking for his half-sister. We do not know her name. Stefano, the son, has done a DNA test. All we have is a possible name and the baby picture with the mother's handwriting. We do not know if there was an adoption.
