Police officer Mabel 'Mae' Eisemann was the person who helped Ruth and Salinas Chief of Police George C Weight find this baby to adopt. George Jr was called 'Jimmy' and changed his name to Jimmy Valves legally when he decided to become a professional musician.

It is believed the mother's name was Ella Mae Smith and she was young, it is supposed, around 19 years of age. There was an older sister that the Weight's did not adopt with 'Jimmy', as they called him as Ruth felt her age too advanced to care for more than one child.

The birth mother used to visit 'Jimmy' and bring him gifts and cakes, but Ruth began to fear she wanted her son back. George, therefore, took the mother to court in San Francisco, CA according to what was told later on .

Ruth told 'Jimmy' that his sister died in an accident with a horse when he inquired further about his sister. After looking for proof, it has been my belief that Ruth possibly took that story from something that actually did occur to Mae Eisemann, in order that Jimmy would not search for his birth mom.

It was said that Jimmy's birth mom was Jewish, or of Jewish decent.

Ruth and George Weight, as well as the adoptee, my father, are all deceased.
