My Mother was sent to a girls home at East Lake in Birmingham Al. She is deceased now, and I just found out that she had been pregnant, sent to an unwed mother's home to give birth and adopt the child out to a home. She did not know the sex of the baby to my knowledge. We are guessing at the year of the birth. I found a postcard postmarked Aug 10, 1942 addressed to my mother at Box 38 East Lake Birmingham Ala, so I assume the baby was born within a year of this date
