Additional Info
My name is Shannan Blanche Carlton. I am searching for my biological siblings. I really have no interest in meeting my biological parents, as I am happy with my adopted parents who love me unconditionally. Still, I'm very interested in finding my siblings, since I know I have quite a few, and I've always been very curious to find them since I have no adopted siblings and I would really like to meet them and see how much I have in common with them, along with possibly becoming friends with them. Also, I would like to find out more about my medical history as well since I've struggled with genetic medical issues in the past, and would like to know more so I can be prepared for any future ailments. Anyway, here is the info I have to go off of, and if anyone has any information that may help me out, please let me know. I have posted a photo of myself on this website’s Facebook page, in hope that someone will recognize any familiarity and provide help to reuniting me with at least one of my siblings.

I was born on February 15th, 1993, and I was adopted by my wonderful parents on March 5, 1993. I currently live in Gloucester, Virginia, but I was born in MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, and I was adopted at United Methodist Adoption Agency, also in Richmond, VA. I am blonde with blue eyes, though I was told that the rest of my siblings had red hair. I am short; only 4' 11', and have a stout sort of body built. My adoption was closed, though my parents were given just a little information about my biological family, so if this sounds familiar to anyone, please contact me. Any information at all would be extremely helpful. Thank you very much!~
What I know:
~My birth parents lived in VA Beach, VA at the time that I was born. I know that they kept their oldest child, who I believe was a boy with red hair.
~I know that there were more than one child that had been adopted before me from my biological family, though I'm unsure of how many there were. As I've said before, I know that all of my other siblings were born with red hair, and they thought my hair would turn out red as well, but I ended up blonde. I know my biological father was a red head, and my biological mother was blonde like me.
~I have been told that one of my older sisters was adopted by a preacher and his wife. I only know this because her adopted parents had attempted to adopt me as well, but the Agency cleared it up and chose my parents to adopt me. At the time of my birth, they were living in Richmond, VA (I believe, though I am not positive)
~Medically, I only know that inner ear infection was a common issue from my birth mother's side of the family, and I have developed a condition called Hidradenitis suppurativa, which in several cases can be genetic. Also, I have a history of anxiety and depression, which my adopted parents were told by the adoption agent that both of my birth parents suffered from as well.
~My adopted parents were also told that my biological great grandmother was 3/4 Cherokee Indian and my birth parents were of Irish and some Spanish heritage, though I assume the Spanish part is a very distant heritage since the agent said that all of us children look very similar, and I don't see any traits of Spanish heritage in my features.
~Lastly, this is just an experience that my adopted parents had when I was about two years old, and it may have no significance or relation to me. At the State Fair when I was two, we were on the tram, seated next to a family with a little red haired girl that looked to be just a couple years older than I. Her parents looked nothing like her, and my mom said that she and I shared an uncanny resemblance, though she had red hair. My mom also said that she got goosebumps and an odd feeling in her stomach as she watched the little girl smile and watch me. Then, after a minute or so, the little girl turned to her parents and said, 'Why does she look so much like me..?', a question to which her parents seemed very uncomfortable to be asked, and my parents said they never answered her while on the tram ride, and quickly got off like they knew something. I have no idea if this is relevant in any way, because I have no way of knowing if it was just a coincidence or if there was a possibility that she was an older sister, but I like to hang onto that thought and hope that maybe I had met one of my sisters.
So that's all I really know, but if anyone has any information that could possibly help, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please contact me. ANYTHING could help me get closer to finding my siblings, so thank you all for reading and for any help you might provide. If you'd like to txt or call me instead of messaging me on Facebook, my cell phone number is 804-694-9688 (though it's currently out of minutes, but I should be getting some this upcoming week). If you would like to contact me before I have minutes back on my cell, please call 804-693-0945 or call/txt my fiance's number, 1-316-644-8798. Thank you all so much again. I really appreciate any help I can get.
