My adopted mother refuses to give me any information about my birth parents, though I am almost certain she knows plenty. When asked, instead of helping me, she gets really angry and spiteful and makes threats to disown or legally unadopt me. I have a rare condition, and need to know as soon as possible if anyone else in my family suffers from a similar condition. Also, I'd like to add I am not looking for any sort of miraculous relationship. I don't want to upend anyone's life, I just want to know who I am and where I came from. I'd especially like to know my birth name, since my name was changed when I was adopted.
