Additional Info
I am a FRATERNAL TWIN: my twin is a girl. I was 21&1/2' long and 7lbs 4ozs at by birth. I was the second twin. My sister weighed I believe 5lbs 3 ozs or close to that anyway,I don't remember exactly. She had developed a heart murmer and had heart surgery age 5, and did well. Last I heard (age 20), she hadn't had any more problems. BIRTH MOM: Had tonsils removed at age 5 and otherwise was in good health. She had straight brown hair, blue eyes, was 5'6' and 120lbs. She was a HS grad that was in the school choir&on the newspaper staff. She had some college after HS. She had work experience as a COSMOTOLOGIST and in TEXTILES. She like music, movies&dancing. She was 32 at our birth, had a baby by c-section due to abruption of the placenta before maybe years before we were also born by
c-section. Her father worked with the NC state GOVERNMENT,was 63 at my birth,in good health,5'10',150lbs, with black wavy hair and an olive complexion. Her mother was a HS grad with additional business training, worked in retail sales, had rheumatoid arthritis and a gall bladder operation, was 5'2' tall, 160lbs with wavy light brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. The birth mother had brothers who were from 6' to 6'2' tall and from 140 to 155 lbs. Her sisters were from 5'5' to 5'6' and from 128 to 145lbs. Siblings hair color from black to light brown and eye was blue or brown. Most family members had at least some freckles. Complexion was fair to olive and the family was thought to be of English decent. The occupations of the birtrh mother's siblings varied: two secretaries, one who worked in a factory and farmed part time, and the youngest one who graduated HS had additional vocational training.
Both of ther bio mom's grandmothers were housewives. Her maternal grandfather was a contractor and her paternal grandfather a farmer. She had a cousin who was a college professor and several otehrs attended college. Vocations of other family members were: house wife, retired military, government worker. Illnesses of bio mom's family included: a maternal aunt had died of cirrhosis of the liver, her maternal grandmother had cancer&diabetes but died of a heart attack at age 75, while her maternal grandfather was still living at age 87 in good health. Her paternal grandfather died of a heart attack at age 73 and her paternal grandmother was 86 and said to be in good health at the time. Her paternal uncle had two serious strokes.
BIOLOGICAL FATHER of us fraternal twin girls:36 yrs old at our birth, 5'9' tall and 150 lbs. He was described by the biological mother as a 'handsome' man with dark brown wavy hair, blue eyes and an olive complexion. My parents were told that he resembled my adoptive Daddy some since he also had an olive complexion (he was 1/8th Cherokee and it isn't known if my biological father was Native American or not). I'm not sure if he ever knew about my sister and me or not. ALL info about him was given to CHS by our biological mother, and he was thought in 'good health'. He worked in FAMILY BUSINESS, his father was a farmer. The birth father was NOT contacted by the Childrens Home Society at all. A search angel told me last year, that it looks to her like our biological mother lived in Union County and we were born in Charlotte,NC which is in Mecklingburg County,NC.
PRIOR to ADOPTION: I think my fraternal twin sister and I were both in same foster care home . I recently learned I was named 'Beverly' by CHS and called 'Beverly Mitchell' since I was in the Mitchell family care home. My sister was adopted at 5mos old and me at 10mos old. My parents were told the biological mother was very concerned that a secure plan be made for a stable,Christian home that everything to be happy and well adjusted person would be found. She even was said to have kept in contact with CHS until I was adopted at 10mos of age,and niether myself or my parents knew I had a twin until we were 20yrs old.
My PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Blonde hair&blue eyes, short thumbs and long fingers. I have itchtheosis, a skin disorter which resembles fish scale skin, and sometimes can be very severe as well as accompanied by organ problems. I just have really dry, scaly skin, have had ezema until late 20's, and I have cystic acne. My twin sister also at age 20 was being treated for cystic acne, though hers was much less severe and she had a beautiful 'China doll' type complexion and just occasionally had cystic bump break outs that were easily treated and went away more easily than mine.
CASE WORKERS at CHILDRENS HOME SOCIETY of GREENSBORO who handled my adoption: Ruth McCracken and Alita Sutcliff.
PLACEMENT with my Parents:
November 8th,1973.
PETITION for ADOPTION: Was filed in Guilford County,NC on September 5th,1974.
FINAL ADOPTION DECREE: Guilford County,NC. The DATE on the decree: September 6th,1974. I went home with my parents James and Ruth Fredell who raised me in Lincoln County. My sister was adopted by a family living closer to the coast. She was doing well the last I'd heard and was engaged. She was in college and studying to be in the medical field. I will keep her identily private in respect of her. If any biological family is found, I am open to trying to contact her myself and forward any information the biological family would like her to have, but leave it up to my sister if she wants to seek contact or not herself. I haven't heard from her since we turned 21.SHE as WELL as ME, can PROBABLY use some UPDATED BIOLOGICAL FAMILY MEDICAL HISTORY. I know we have an older half sibling and I DO want to try to make contact with that person for sure, and am open to contact with others who don't mind meeting my Mom and will accept her as such since she raised me. I do not have any ill feelings for being put up for adoption and believe that our biological mother truly did what she thought was best for my sister and myself. I appreciate and respect her for that. I also thank her for giving me my family I grew up with, and want her to know I was raised in a loving,Christian home like she wanted us to be.
