Baby girl born in the summer of 1971, 8/17/1971 or 8/17/71 or 8-17-1971 or 8-17-71 and placed for adoption.---------- I am a female adoptee, I believe I was born August 17, 1971. I am in search of any birthfamily members. My hope is to gain an understanding of my origins and obtain medical and genealogical information.---------- My amended birth certificate states that I was born at 7:53 PM on August 17, 1971 in Duval County in the city of Jacksonville, FL and weighed 5lbs. 6 ozs. I do not know which hospital or the name of the doctor. The Registrar listed on the amended birth certificate is Elizabeth Hogan.---------- My adoption was handled by The Children's Home Society(CHS). The Adoption Placement Agreement is dated September 10, 1971 (9/10/1971) and signed by Agency Representative, Eva J. Anopol. A Caseworker, Catharine Counts is named on one of the forms. The adoption was finalized in the city of Tavares, Lake County, FL on April 13, 1972 by W. Troy Hall, Jr., Circuit Judge. I was placed in a Catholic family who had one son. They lived in Melbourne, FL at the start of the adoption process.---------- This is some of the information provided by CHS, almost word for word, given to my parents, at the time of my adoption, in regards to my birthfamily, I can only assume it's accurate:___ The natural mother of your daughter is 23, French, Dutch and German ethnic background, is 5' tall, with a slender build and is quite an attractive girl who has ash blond hair, gray eyes and a fair complexion. She graduated from high school and completed a course in key punch operation, and since then, has worked for large corporations. Her interests are of a quiet nature, in that she likes to read, attend movies and in addition, she has a creative talent, painting in water colors. ----------The maternal grandparents were ages 63? & 43?. It doesn't say whether or not they were married. The maternal grandmother quit school after the 11th grade and worked on and off as saleslady, assembler and waitress. She came from a large family of children and her siblings included identical twin sisters. The maternal grandfather completed the 11th grade and always earned his living as a salesman. He came from a family of 4 children, in modest circumstances and had continued his education when possible, through night courses. ------------It goes on to describe the siblings of the natural mother. She had a brother, age 26, who was married with 2 children. He had red hair and worked in electronics. A sister, age 21, who was married and had a daughter. A brother, age 20, who worked as a carpenter and a brother, age 17, who was a senior in HS.------ The birthfather is said to have been age 21, of English and Irish ethnic background, 5'6' tall, of medium build, with ash blond hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion. His interests were in the sport field, including both active and spectator participation. He was serving in the military. He had an older brother, age 24, who was a career military man and a younger brother, age 19, who was awaiting a call into the military. He also had a sister, age 17, who left school after the 11th grade and married. Both of his parents were in their 40's. His father had training as an automobile mechanic and was a foreman in a large manufacturing company.---------- I don't know a whole lot more than that. I have posted my info. on a few websites over the years and have registered with ISRR.
