The Certifying Doctor on my birth certificate is Dr. P. E. Orcutt that lists his mailing address in Marion, Iowa, signed on 12/2/68. My Birth Certificate was received by the Registrar on 12/6/68 & resigned by 2 Registrars on 6/26/70. I can only make out one signature that looks to read, Margaret G. Schima. The Birth Certificate number is 114-68-041200.\n\nI visited the hospital of my birth in June of 2015. I spoke with the Nursery, Maternity & Records departments who would give me no information. I was told I was one of 13 boys (or children, can't remember exactly) born that day & that my name was not what my adoptive name was that's on my birth certificate. \n\nI was told my records are sealed to protect my birth parents privacy. I respect this, though what about the right to know of the adoptee to know family history, health history, if any bio siblings & other bio family dynamics, etc. I just want to thank my bio parents for having me & giving me up for adoption & to let them know how I turned out & share life stories over the last 52 years of our lives. I've been thankful to & for them every day of my life & I'd love to meet them to express this deep appreciation.\n\nI was told the adoption went through a Rabbi because my bio parents wanted me raised by a Jewish family. My adoptive parents were limited in my bio parents information, but, were told that one, or both, of my bio parents were Jewish & that's why they specified I be adopted by a Jewish family. So, the adoption was done through a Rabbi. Unfortunately, there is no one left alive of my adoptive family who might have remembered his name, or, what Temple, Synagogue, he was associated with. I was told that due to being through a Rabbi, my adoption wasn't registered properly with the State of MO & I was taken into DFS custody at 2 or 3 months old. To which my adoptive parents had to fight for & spend a lot of money to get me back & I was in the Foster Care system for about a month. Luckily, I was reunited with my adoptive parents & the rest is my story. \n\nThank you for your time & attention to these details in this small part of my adoption tale. My story, in its 52 year entirety so far, is filled with a well lived, celebrated life that I'd be happy to share with Find My Family.
