My mother told me family stories when we were having "the talk". She says she had a relationship in 1963, they were a biracial couple. Her family found out she got pregnant, at 16, in Idaho. They had her visit and "aunt" in Carson City, Nevada. She said she felt very alone, and disliked hospitals for the rest of her life. Green tile walls, bugged her, a lot. She said the dad's last name was West. She tried in the nineties to dig some info up. Early 90s so not a lot. Her husband, my father passed away in 1995. She talked about the son she never knew, pretty much daily until she passed in early 2000s.
