My birth mother was legally married at the time of my birth but was staying at the Plaza Hotel in Fort Worth when she went into labor. She took a taxi cab to the hospital. She was very pretty, approximately 5' tall, with fair skin, blue eyes and dark, curly hair. She was adamant about adoptive placement and never wanted to see her baby (me) after birth. She left from the hospital in a taxi cab, also. Her name is shown as 'Mae', but even though this is what she went by, it could have been her middle name. Her first name might have been 'Rose', but was known as 'Mae', but 'Mae' is definitely either the first or middle name. She gave birth to a female child 2 years earlier, when she was approximately 16 years old, but that child died in infancy. I have heard that she still lives somewhere near Dallas/Plano or in that area. Her mother (my birth maternal grandmother) worked as a waitress in the 50s, and her father, I believe, died from stomach cancer.
