I am actually searching for my mama's birth family. As the story was told to us my mama was born, her birth mama tried to take care of her. Ultimately her adoption was arranged on the 50 yard line of a where my mama's adoptive parents would sit with their attorney.. Mama's adoptive parents were Evelyn and Harold Severin ages 40 and 60 respectively. They were among the Chicogo socialite community. On Monday morning after they agreed to adopt mama at the game they went to the attorney's office and gave him 2000.00 and took my mama home. The attorney who arranged the adoption was named Bernard Whitney. Mama's age at the time was 4 months old and had pneumonia, this was relayed to me by my mama's adopted mom later in life.
