Contact was made in the late 90's with Beryl. A letter was exchanged not only with Beryl but with Beryl's daughter Gretchen. Adoptee, Patty, would like to reconnect with the birth family. She was unable to get their last names. While Patti (Mary Ann) was born in Sioux City, IA, The Catholic Charities of Omaha, Nebraska arranged the adoption. In the Social Summary, the sister mentions that the maternal grandparents do no live in Nebraska. Baby Mary Ann's father was a West Point graduate, 32-34 years old, 6'4", blond hair, blue eyes. In Beryl's letter dated December of 1997, she said he did not live in the same state she lived in. He had previously been married and had 2 boys. After the birth, the parents of Mary Ann did not see each other again. Beryl believes that the father died sometime before her letter dated 1997.
