Birth father and mother were boyfriend/girlfriend, unmarried and living in Brooklyn, NY at time of conception. Father's birthplace: Rhode Island. Mother's birthplace: New York City, maybe Brooklyn. Mother said she didn't remember if father was English or Irish. A few months before giving birth, birth mother moved to Emporia, Kansas to stay with a married girlfriend whose husband was studying there. Mother arranged private adoption to Jewish family in Jersey City, New Jersey and the adoptive mother with her sister traveled to Emporia and picked me up when I was 5 days old. Some time later, birth mother returned to Brooklyn but did not resume the relationship with birth father.
