I was abandoned at a church/hospital in Eastern North Carolina maybe in June 1946 when I was at least a month old. My age was determined by those who took over my care and I was given birth date of May 1, 1946. I was adopted very soon after by Robert and Viola Peoples Akin of Fontana, North Carolina. It was said that my parents were not even 'registered' for an adoption, but that Viola knew someone, working in the agency who chose Robert and Viola as the adoptive parents. They have passed on, and I would love to connect with surviving birth family. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
