My grandmother (birth mother) gave birth to my mother (adoptee) in 1942, out of wedlock, when she was 17 years old. The only information I have regarding my mother’s birth father is that his last name was Beebe, possibly Harry or Harrison Beebe, a married man with a wife and children, in his early 40s. My grandmother was the babysitter for the Beebe family, and became intimate with the head of the household, Beebe. I was also told that my grandmother became pregnant by Beebe approximately 2 years prior to the birth of my mother, and that Beebe forced my grandmother to have a “bathtub” abortion, said he was a doctor. My grandmother married Thomas Joseph White, my “grandfather” on December 12, 1944, and was told by my mother’s sibling that my “grandfather” officially adopted my mother. My mother, grandmother, and grandfather are deceased.

The information provided above came to me after I submitted my DNA to Ancestry.com and was presented with several possible DNA matches with the last name of Beebe.
