My grandmother gave up her first child due to being an unwed mother and financial constraints. She had a difficult time talking about it but she said his name was Steven. My dad, her only other child, says he remembers her crying around October every year and she once told him it was his brother's birthday. My dad said a cousin told him that the agency or Salvation Army had called and told her that the baby was doing fine a couple times. We believe he was born in October of 1958, but could be 1957. It may not be October but my dad is almost certain.
