My brother is half Caucasian and half African American. His adoptive father was 30yo at the time of adoption. His adoptive father was also mixed I believe. He is originally from Virginia where his father was a truck driver. The adoptive father was in the army stationed in Germany and moved to Los Angeles after discharge. His adoptive mother was Creole. She was born in Louisiana but grew up in Los Angeles. She was raised by her grandmother, never knew her father and remained in close contact with her mother. She was active in the Catholic church and met the adoptive father at a technology school they both attended near the department of children's services in L.A. They had been married 3 years when they adopted my brother. They owned a home in a primarily African American community. They gave him an English first name and I believe a Scottish middle name which was also the adoptive fathers middle name.
