Additional Info
NOTE: I'm not sure of the correct spelling of the adoptee name "Dewayne/Dewane" or "Dwyane/Dwane", nor am I sure if the sure if the child birth was Dewane or Dwyane.\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\n. My siblings and I just discovered in mid March 2018, that our mother gave a child up for adoption. The details about the adoptions are extremely sketchy, and I am not sure of the accuracy as to the information that I do have. The information that I assume to be true is that, in late 1960 or early 1961, our mother gave birth to her fifth child. The fourth, child still and infant at the time born 3/1960, therefore, the fifth/orphaned child ---the child that were orphaned may have been born 12/1960 or 01/1961, because our sister the sixth child was born 11/1961. Our mother “Louise Jones” had to have given birth to the orphaned child at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, or St Mary Hospital in Riviera Florida, during that time St Mary was the go to hospital for African Americans in Riviera Beach Florida. \\\\\\\\n I was about five and half, and I remember my mom coming from the hospital telling me that she had a miscarriage, and I seem to remember her also, telling me that the baby was a boy and that she named him Dewayne/Dewane or Dwyane/Dwane. I do remember my mom telling me while she was pregnant, that if the baby was a boy that she would name him Dewayne or Dwyane, because she always liked that name. The child’s last name maybe listed as Jones or Wallace. We have two biological aunts that are both well into their eighties; one remembers an adoption regarding our mother, but have no details at all. The second aunt has senile dementia, but her sixty-seven years old daughter does remember as a young child an adoption regarding our mother; and she seemed to remember something been said about the baby being sent to Miami, but she is not sure. \\\\\\\\nI am sorry to say that out mother passed on about forty-three years ago at a young age of forty-one--- a day before her birthday “03/20/34”. This circumstance is so shocking and extremely disturbing to us, because she was such a loving mother and so attentive to us. She had to have been over whelmed ---with just moving from Sanford FL to a new city “Riviera Beach, FL” --- very pregnant, with already three children, plus an infant---living with two sisters and their children, plus her four children in a two bed room apartment, and unemployed. \\\\\\\\nMy sibling and I pray that you and your staff can assist us in some way, for we have no clue as to where to begin. Thanking you in advance.\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\nSincerely,\\\\\\\\nPhyllis A. Jones, \\\\\\\\nTwenty-Year Veteran, US Air Force\\\\\\\\n
