Looking for information from birth family or friends of family regarding the birth of the adoptee. I am the adoptees child. I, by Oregon law, am NOT privileged to have identifing information regarding my Mother's birth. The birth was September 21, 1916 in Portland. The birth name, as found on Amazon, was Gene (with a G) Snow. She was adopted November 4, 1916 by James and Margaret Shaw. She lived in Beaumont-Wilshire and Alameda areas of NE Portland the entire time she lived in Oregon. She attended Alameda Elementry School and was a grad of Grant High School. She married Lloyd Ruff in January 1940. In 1957 she and family moved to another state, never returning to Oregon. She died December 2000 never knowing that the could have her birth records. I know this is a long shot but some stories last in families and neighborhoods for a long time.
