I was given information but am not sure it is correct. My birth certificate says I was born in Chevery in Prince Georges County, Maryland, but my mother (adoptive) thinks the social worker told her I was born on the Eastern Shore. I was told that my birth father may have been totally out of the picture and was a construction worker who was only temporarily in the area. My birth mother was young, maybe 18 to 22, and was trying to take computer classes of some sort in college (this was 1971 so I am not sure about that). She tried to keep me for a while but could not manage. I went into foster care briefly and was then adopted when I was 4 months old through the State of Maryland. I have been told my birth mother's family was poor, most likely, and my maternal grandfather was in "an institution". I was told my birth name was Lacey, perhaps Lacey Michelle or Lacey Marie. That is not my current name. I am supposedly of Irish and German descent. I am allegic to penicillin and had very sensitive skin as a baby. I am fair complected. My birth mother reportedly asked that I go to a religious family. \n\nI would like to find any biological family. I have one daughter now and would like her to know about them. \n\nI plan to get a DNA kit within the next few months. I have looked on these registries on-and-off for years but have never found anything.
