I have very little information regarding my birth. I have lived my entire life with the understanding that I was born in Omaha, Nebraska and I have no reason to believe that is not true. Although, it could be. I was told that my birth father was in the US Military Academy and that he was 6'4". My mother was 5'2". They were either married and were, by Academy rule, not allowed to have children. Or, they were unmarried and thus not allowed to have children out of wedlock. I find the information about my birth parents to be a fictional tale to romanticize my story. I do not know the name of the adoption agency, but I believe my case worker was an African-American woman named Adelaide Turner. I have sought information from the state of Nebraska in recent years and was denied access to my birth information. The only thing I was told was that my birth mother had a common name and that I was born in Smith Hospital. I don't recall there being a Smith Hospital in Omaha, but I could be wrong. Any information would be helpful.
