My birthmother came from Chicago to stay with relatives in Los Angeles and registered with Children's Home Society, Los Angeles months before I was born. Non-identifying information from the agency states that my mother was 21 in 1963, however the social worker told my parents that she was 39 years of age. My birthmother did not sign off on my adoption until three months after I was born due to a court battle over custody.
