Additional Info
I am Gena, I had two older brothers, from the bio parents, Toby (sp?) Yates who was about 4 years older than myself, and Robert Lowell Yates who was adopted with me around August of 1964 to the same adopted parents who were Jake and Margaret Dunning. Robert and I were born, adopted and raised in Nashville Tn however we lost track of our older brother Toby. We had been allowed to visit with Toby while we were in various foster homes. Sometimes I was separated from my brother Robert while in foster care however somehow we were kept together in foster care much of the time while Toby stayed else where. I'd heard he might have been living with our paternal fathers parents the Yates here in Nashville, Tn, but that was hearsay. Then we Robert and I were adopted by the Dunnings we lost track of Toby. It was said that he might have been adopted by people from Florida and moved there. Again hearsay. Oddly enough when our adopted parents took us to their church members of the church said they knew us that we had been brought to church by either grand parents or possibly foster parents who attended the church, also unclear who had taken us to this church. The church was on Trinity Lane Nashville tn and called Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. I mention this only because it was such an odd thing which surprised my adopted parents greatly and might be significant in ways not yet clear. My main interest is in finding Toby, and possible other half siblings. I'd like to get any and all information pertaining to why we were put in foster care and eventually adopted after living with our bio-parents for several years. I'm not sure what age I was when they did this but I assume it was when I was a little over a year old, and my two brothers (Robert 14 months), and(Toby 4 years) older than myself. I'm curious as to what possibly could have happened that our bio parents would/could give their 3 children to state foster care after raising and living with them for so long? Also I need to add that my brother I was adopted to the Dunning family (Robert Lowell) died March 17 1991. And I feel I should add he had changed his name from Dunning to Steinhice he was re-adopted by the Steinhice family around 1979 after being estranged from the Dunning family for a few years. Please feel free to contact me via email if you suspect you could be a relative or might have any information on Joan Molly Cook (Yates) bio- mom, William Yates bio-father, Toby (Yates). Thank you for reading all of this.\n
