I was adopted at 2 days old by James and Gloria Bedingfield (nee' Joyce) on March 8, 1957. Mary Frances and Harold Hess were mutual friends of the Bedingfields and parents of birth mother. I was told her last name was Smith and she was 18 when I was born. The Hesses were instrumental in having this private adoption complete. I have done DNA samples to Ancestry and 23andMe. I've had contact from both sides of birth parents families but we can't determine which side is maternal and which is paternal. Birth father was probably unaware of my birth. He was in the service at the time and most likely it was a one night stand from what I've been told.
