I was born on January 25, 1972 in Ames, Iowa at Mary Greeley Medical Center. I was adopted privately through an attorney's office in Ames. My parents got custody of me when I was 3 days old. At birth, I had strawberry blond hair and brown eyes. As I got older the color of my hair darkened to auburn and now it is becoming more strawberry blond again. At the time of my adoption, the attorney's office was called, 'Pasley, Singer, Seiser, Pasley'. The attorney of record who facilitated the adoption was, William A. Singer. When seeking non-identifying information in 2004, I was told by a representative from the attorney's office in Ames that my birth mother also had red hair and brown eyes and that she was originally from the Ames or surrounding area. I was also told that she was 24 years old and not married when I was born and that the birth father had abandoned her when he found out she was pregnant. I was told the birth father was not identified but that he also had red hair. I was told that she had studied at Iowa State University and graduated 3 years before I was born in Early Childhood Education. This puts the graduation time frame from 1968-1969. My parents were told when they got me that my birth mother did not want me to be staying in Ames. My dad had taken a job in California so we moved when I was about 5 months old. My parents were both originally from Des Moines, so when I was about 4 years old, my family moved back to West Des Moines, which is where I grew up. I have parents who loved me and raised me and they will always be my mom and dad. I am not seeking to replace my parents who raised me, but to connect with my past. I am curious about the woman who gave me life and would like to meet her someday.
